[Background]

The end of the world and of time itself was prophesied not only by the sibyls and the anchorites, but by their descendants as well. They all spoke in common languages and served as mediums, receiving messages from the beyond via portals. Those messages were sometimes confusing and a medium may have needed assistance in understanding them.

A cistern built by an inspired mason was perhaps one such portal, with he and his family serving as mediums.

The cistern, which is now a wine cellar, intrigues a young girl. With her father's help, she assumes an appointed role...
